Course Description

The course consists of 125 hours, which include the entire theoretic studies and hands on practice. The course is followed by 30 hours of clinical practice in a Skilled Nursing Facility. During the course students will be introduced to a variety of health-related topics, especially the role of the nursing assistant in the overall nursing process. The program also introduces students to infection control, as well as legal and ethical issues inherent at this level of patient care. Upon completion, students should understand the nursing process as it applies to certified nursing assistants.
 
Once the program requirements are successfully completed, students will attain the opportunity to sit for the State Certified Nurse Aide Examination.
 
This examination is offered on school premises for the added convenience of the Concord Rusam graduate.

Employment Opportunities
 
Certified Nurse Assistants may be employed in hospitals, nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, retirement homes, and daycare centers for the elderly.
